Material Handler / Distribution Associate
Location: Carlsbad CA
Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Duration: 6 month contract
Pay Rate: $18 to $19 per hour

Position Summary

Under direct supervision the Material Handler is responsible for daily distribution and in plant logistics activities including loading unloading moving transferring and transacting materials. This role supports shipping receiving inventory control and production operations in a fast paced cGMP regulated environment.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented safety focused and able to accurately complete inventory transactions in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform shipping receiving storing issuing and delivery of materials and supplies

• Load and unload materials and move inventory throughout the facility

• Perform accurate inventory transactions and maintain strong inventory control practices

• Conduct physical inventory counts and cycle counts

• Select and stage materials for work orders

• Accurately count stage and store materials

• Transport materials between departments facilities and production floor

• Operate warehouse equipment including sit down forklifts stand up forklifts side loaders and pallet jacks

• Work in narrow aisles and cold storage environments as needed

• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and GMP guidelines

• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures

• Support training efforts and assist team members when needed

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing laboratory and warehouse environment. The role may involve handling viral or bacterial materials potentially hazardous chemicals and infectious or potentially infectious samples. Strict adherence to safety and GMP regulations is required.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse distribution or material handling experience preferred

• Experience operating forklifts and warehouse equipment preferred

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work in a fast paced team based environment

• Comfortable working in a regulated manufacturing setting
