Quality Control Inspector
Location: Carlsbad CA
Schedule: Monday through Friday 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Pay: $20 per hour
Duration: 6 month contract

Job Summary
The Quality Control Inspector supports manufacturing operations by performing visual dimensional and functional inspections. This role ensures product quality through routine and special inspections proper documentation and follow up on corrective actions while maintaining efficiency in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions
• Perform and document hourly inspections line clearance and training activities
• Develop inspection plans in collaboration with Production and Quality Engineering
• Support QTP execution for new components
• Perform document and file First Articles and retention samples
• Review approve and maintain Device History Records in compliance with applicable standards and regulations
• Ensure inspection equipment calibration and maintenance
• Investigate and resolve daily quality issues
• Provide documented training for shift and department employees including temporary and contract staff
• Initiate Non Conforming Material Reports as needed
• Trend key inspection metrics and close NCMRs and work orders per standard procedures

Key Interactions
• Manufacturing teams at various levels
• Process Group Leaders to prioritize documentation and resolve issues
• Quality Engineers and Engineering teams for troubleshooting root cause analysis and process improvements
• Shipping to confirm product readiness and resolve shipment delays
• Warehouse teams to coordinate material release and documentation
• Mechanics regarding quality or equipment related issues

Work Environment
This position works within warehouse laboratory and manufacturing environments. Exposure may include viral and bacterial hazards hazardous chemicals and potentially infectious materials. Flexible hours may be required to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 35 lbs
• Up to 50 to 80 percent of time spent standing walking sitting or working at a lab bench or desk
• Must have close and distance vision with the ability to adjust focus
• Use of required Personal Protective Equipment

Education Skills and Experience

Required
• 1 to 2 years of Quality Control inspection experience

Preferred
• Experience in a medical device high volume manufacturing environment

Knowledge and Skills
• Ability to read and follow detailed procedures instructions and drawings
• Understanding of QSR and ISO standards
• Strong teamwork and professional communication skills
• Experience with data entry word processing and spreadsheets
• Knowledge of basic quality concepts and terminology
• Understanding of product material and calibration traceability
• Basic math skills for determining inspection sample sizes
