Position: Senior Import/Export Analyst (Contractor)
Location: Remote (Preference for candidates based in San Diego CA)
Pay Rate: $39–$49/hour (based on experience)
Duration: Approximately 12 months (based on performance and business needs)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced First Sale for Export (FSFE) Audit Lead to drive the implementation and execution of a comprehensive FSFE audit framework. This role will partner closely with Global Trade Compliance leadership to build a scalable repeatable audit process ensure compliance within operational workflows and support audit readiness initiatives.
This is a highly cross-functional role ideal for someone with deep expertise in global trade compliance customs valuation and audit execution.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Framework Implementation

Partner with Global Trade Compliance leadership to operationalize the FSFE audit framework

Define and execute audit scope objectives frequency and methodology aligned with FSFE and internal compliance standards

Develop and document SOPs work instructions and audit workflows

Translate audit frameworks into clear actionable operational processes
Audit Execution

Perform sample testing of FSFE transactions supporting documentation and internal controls

Validate compliance and identify process gaps or risks

Document audit findings observations and root cause analyses

Support development of corrective actions and remediation plans
Reporting & Continuous Improvement

Prepare clear audit summaries and stakeholder-ready reporting materials

Develop analytics and reporting routines to track audit activity and outcomes

Provide recommendations to strengthen controls documentation and operational consistency
Collaboration & Transition

Work cross-functionally with compliance tax and operational teams

Support knowledge transfer and transition of audit processes to internal teams
Required Qualifications
-
Strong experience in global trade compliance including customs valuation and FSFE
-
Proven experience designing and/or executing audit frameworks (trade customs or financial controls)

Hands-on experience with SAP GTS
-
Experience working cross-functionally with compliance leadership and operational teams

Strong documentation and process design skills (SOPs audit procedures workflows)
Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of global trade regulations across multiple regions

Experience in the life sciences or medical device industry

Advanced Microsoft Office skills with strong proficiency in Excel
Additional Information

Candidates located in the San Diego area are strongly preferred though the role is fully remote
