Position Title: Equipment Maintenance Technician II
Location: Carlsbad CA
2nd Shift: 1:30 PM – 10:45 PM
Pay:27.50 – $30/hr DOE
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician II to support our engineering and production teams by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys troubleshooting and improving processes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical low-voltage sensor and basic electro-mechanical issues
Respond to equipment breakdowns and production support calls (set-ups material changeovers line clearance)
Maintain and update preventive maintenance (PM) documentation validations and equipment records
Monitor and respond to Process Alarm System alerts
Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
3–5 years of maintenance experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting sensors process controls and servo motors
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and basic electrical principles
Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics
Experience in a GMP or regulated environment (preferred)
Associate degree or trade certification (preferred)
Automation equipment experience (a plus)
Skills & Competencies
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
Basic computer skills (MS Word Excel maintenance systems)
Solid understanding of safety practices and procedures
Good communication and teamwork skills
Work Environment
Manufacturing/laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals and biological materials
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Must be comfortable working flexible hours and supporting production needs
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
