Production Associate
Location: Carlsbad CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Duration: Approximately 6 months
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Job Type: Temporary
Position Overview
We are seeking a Production Associate to support assembly packaging testing and inspection activities within a manufacturing environment. This position will work with production equipment and follow detailed manufacturing instructions and quality procedures to ensure products are assembled tested inspected and packaged accurately.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented reliable comfortable performing repetitive manufacturing tasks and able to follow written procedures and quality standards.
The company is a medical diagnostics and healthcare products organization that develops and manufactures diagnostic testing solutions designed to help healthcare professionals detect and manage a variety of medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assembly and packaging activities including spotting lamination testing filling strip loading and packaging finished kits.
- Assist with manufacturing and production processes including lyophilization operations.
- Operate manufacturing equipment used in the production area.
- Perform equipment setups and changeovers.
- Inspect assembled devices pouches and finished products for quality and accuracy.
- Complete production documentation including Device History Records (DHRs).
- Record and reconcile machine and material usage including yields returns and scrap.
- Perform inspections testing print verifications and line clearances.
- Perform in-process hourly and matrix testing as required.
- Calculate expiration dates for finished goods and components.
- Accurately use equipment and approved methods for production quality and inventory control.
- Follow all manufacturing instructions operating procedures drawings and Quality System Regulations (QSRs).
- Maintain a clean and organized production work area.
- Work collaboratively with peers mechanics engineers and management to resolve technical or production issues.
- May assist with training peers or contract employees on specific tasks after demonstrating competency.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing production assembly packaging or medical device experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow written instructions.
- Comfortable working with manufacturing equipment and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to accurately complete production documentation and records.
- Strong quality and safety mindset.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
- Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform repetitive manufacturing processes for up to 60% of the workday.
- Ability to walk stand and/or sit for extended periods up to 75% of the workday.
- Requires close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/production environment.
- Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM.
- Flexible work hours may occasionally be required to meet project deadlines.
- PPE is required in designated areas.
