Prototype Lab- Electronics Assembly Technician

Location: Santa Clara CA 95051

Shift: 1st Shift Mon – Fri

Pay Rate: $32.65/hour

 

Are you an experienced Electronics Assembly Technician with advanced SMT soldering and PCB rework skills? We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support prototype builds circuit card assembly and mechanical assembly in a fast-paced engineering environment. Job Summary

The Electronics Assembly Technician is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical assembly of prototype hardware including printed circuit boards (PCBs) circuit card assemblies (CCAs) wire harnesses cables and electromechanical assemblies. This role supports prototype builds performs precision soldering and rework manages prototype inventory activities and ensures project timelines are met.

 

Key Responsibilities

Prepare load and solder printed circuit boards (PCBs) with minimal supervision.

Perform precision SMT soldering rework and modifications on circuit card assemblies (CCAs).

Install remove and repair electronic components on prototype assemblies.

Fabricate wire harnesses and cable assemblies.

Assemble and disassemble plastic enclosures chassis test boxes and mechanical panels.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings blueprints and assembly documentation.

Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues while supporting engineering prototype builds.

Assist with prototype lab and stockroom activities including inventory and material coordination.

Contribute to process improvements and support new product development.

Required Qualifications (Must Have)

Candidates must possess all of the following skills to be considered:

Experience installing BGA (Ball Grid Array) components using a reflow machine

Experience performing BGA rework including re-balling

Advanced SMT soldering experience with 0201 and 0402 components

Experience assembling and disassembling plastic enclosures

Experience installing and soldering QFN DRQFN SOT and similar IC packages

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a prototype or engineering lab environment.

Ability to perform electronic troubleshooting and precision rework.

Strong understanding of IPC workmanship standards.

Ability to interpret assembly drawings and engineering documentation.

Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Ability to work independently while meeting project schedules.
