Program Director – African American Infant and Maternal Health
The Program Director provides leadership and operational oversight for the African American Infant and Maternal Health program serving North County San Diego. Reporting to senior leadership the Director ensures high-quality culturally responsive services. This role is rooted in a deep respect for the dignity of mothers unborn children and families and is committed to nurturing healthy pregnancies safe births and strong beginnings for life for black families.
This position oversees daily operations staff supervision budgeting contracts and community partnerships and ensures all program outcomes compliance standards and funding requirements are met. The Director advances a mission grounded in dignity compassion and the protection and nurturing of life from pregnancy through early childhood. This position is ideal for a servant leader who views this work as both a professional responsibility and a calling—advancing hope healing and wholeness within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations and provide values-centered supervision to support a small program staff
- Ensure compliance with statewide BIH standards county contracts and regulatory requirements (HIPAA OSHA etc.)
- Oversee budgets grants and contractual outcomes with integrity and accountability
- Guide program strategy to support life-affirming family-centered outcomes
- Build strong partnerships with community
- Promote a safe respectful and compassionate environment for families and staff
- Support continuous quality improvement and community education efforts
- Recruit train mentor and retain staff
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of management experience in community-based or healthcare programs serving women and African American communities
- Master’s degree in Social Work Public Health Health Education Social Sciences or related field
- Strong knowledge of maternal and infant health prenatal and postpartum care and early child development
- Demonstrated leadership grounded in compassion humility and service
- Ability to demonstrate communication organizational and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- Current CPR certification
- Valid California driver’s license with acceptable driving history
- Ability to travel throughout San Diego County
- Proof of auto insurance
- TB clearance upon hire (and maintained as required)
- Faith based preferred
- North County San Diego strongly preferred
- Cultural Competency
Pay
- 40 an hour
