Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday

2nd shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm (train on 1st shift for two weeks)

Temp-To-Hire

Pay rate: $19-$20

 

Position Summary: Responsible for performing all tasks involved in the fabrication of the company’s composite parts. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Tools de-mold tools & builds records

  • Cleans and reseals tools using the appropriate release systems

  • Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by checking them visually

  • Understands & completes internal & customer required layup documents.

  • Trim excess materials from molds using hand shears or trimming knives

  • Vacuum bag bladder molding trapped rubber • Maintain a clean workplace

  • Be aware of FOD & Tool control at all times

  • Continuously demonstrate 5S Application

  • Perform Composite layup such as: Carbon Pre-Preg Carbon Fibers Kevlar layup Fiberglass and Hand Layup

  • Perform part build-up free from wrinkles air pockets and voids

  • Always present organizational skills

  • Observe all laws and work in a safe manner

  • Cut materials to size and fasten materials to the mold bagging the composites for oven-curing

  • Lays material on mold which move in and out of the work area on wheeled carts

  • Pays close attention to detail and craftsmanship. • Build parts from material kit following work instructions

  • Adheres to the highest practicable safety and housekeeping standards.

  • Records information on appropriate production records logs and other report forms. Performs re-work as required. Repairs defective products rejected by inspection or test personnel.

  • Prep and maintain tools in accordance with specified guidelines and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and Abilities)

  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to verbally communicate read and comprehend written and verbal instructions.

  • Must be familiar with blueprints and other similar drawings and documents; capable of doing simple mathematical calculations; and familiar with a variety of machinist hand tools and measuring instruments. • Will require respirator certification.

  • Must be able to work in a loud environment; work extended hours as required; and be able to lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to read write and speak English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating instructions layup & procedure manuals.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and the management team.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may have to lift and /or move up to 10 pounds occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds at times. While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee must regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately. The employee is frequently exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
